Third Pregnancy Check-Up - Week 32
The third pregnancy check-up takes place at the doctor’s office. This is the last check-up before the birth, so the focus will often be on discussing expectations for the delivery and the period after birth. For most women, pregnancy starts to feel more difficult around week 32, and various problems may arise, such as fatigue, pelvic pain, or swelling in the legs and arms.
Once again, the doctor will focus on detecting potential health issues like preeclampsia (pregnancy-induced hypertension) and gestational diabetes. Additionally, the doctor will check the baby's position, the amount of amniotic fluid, and estimate the baby's size.
Vaccination for Pregnant Women – Week 25-32
Whooping Cough Vaccination: Whooping cough can be a serious and potentially life-threatening disease for newborns, especially before they are old enough to be vaccinated themselves. Vaccinating pregnant women against whooping cough protects the newborn in the first few months of life. Therefore, the Health Authority recommends that pregnant women receive a whooping cough vaccination in the second or third trimester from their general practitioner.
COVID-19 and Influenza Vaccination: Pregnant women may have a slightly increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19 and influenza. For this reason, vaccination against both diseases is recommended during the autumn and winter seasons for all pregnant women in the second and third trimesters. When you are vaccinated during pregnancy, your baby will also be automatically protected in the early days after birth.
These vaccinations should be ordered through vacciner.dk.
